Help Customers with store purchases by determining the customer's needs and advising the

customer appropriately as to what to purchase for their needs.

Report product related issues such as damages or faults.

Ensuring that the correct pricing reflects on products and advising if any discrepancies are noted. General housekeeping of your department is expected of you and is non-negotiable.

  • Greet and direct all customers upon them entering the store
  • To ensure that you accompany your customers in store at all times (this includes if you are still finishing up with a customer before lunch, tea or knock off time)
  • Confirm stock availability before concluding sales and communicate this info to customers
  • Ensure that all your customers are served from beginning to end which includes ensuring that their purchases are paid for (invoiced)
  • Ensure that your customer's purchases are carefully loaded onto their vehicles without any damages to the products or their vehicles this must be done without any unnecessary delay's
  • Ensure that all incoming calls are answered within 3 rings
  • Remain responsible and accountable ensuring the correct merchandising in your respective sections
  • Report items that are out of stock to buyer/store manager
Always inform reception when you leave the store (for less than 10 minutes). Inform management if required to leave the store for longer than 10 minutes. When you are leaving the store for lunch or tea breaks you are required to clock out as per the clocking policy and procedure

  • Must have product knowledge in your area of responsibility (department) to effectively assist customers with queries regarding their purchases. Approach the relevant department's product specialists/sales assistants should you be unsure
  • Must be able to sell "add on products" for all sales being made
  • Must have a neat and presentable appearance which includes always wearing your uniform and name tag in order for customers to easily identify you as a MICA representative
  • Ensure that you keep abreast of all promotions in store, so you are able to advise customers accordingly
  • Ensure that you follow up on customer requests on special items
  • Communicate with customers in a medium they understand
  • Approach store manager or store owner regarding customer queries regarding pricing and discounts if this might help in closing sales
  • Escalate any customer complaints or queries to store manager or owner should you experience any difficulties in doing so yourself
Make sure that aisles are free from obstructions where customers walk to avoid injuries to yourself, your colleagues, and customers

  • At times you might be expected to fulfil other duties within the business and therefore must be familiar with the roles of your colleagues
  • Your duties may be amended from time to time to accommodate the business needs and additions to your job description may be implemented, this will be done in writing
  • You are required to have sufficient product knowledge to assist customers with any queries regarding products in the store, consult with department specialists to better understand products.

- skill your ability to help customers, and you shall be expected to attend such training without fail

You shall be expected to use the FAB model (feature, advantage, and benefit) to increase the basket size of all sales made

  • You are required to perform your tasks to the required standards and assist customers and your colleagues to the best of your ability
  • Your performance appraisal scoring shall depend on your individual performance as per the business requirements. You are urged to go the extra mile to ensure your own success and growth within the business
  • To display willingness to assist the customer with their needs through clear and effective communication
  • Commitment to assist the customer with queries and complaints is imperative
  • Offering quick, friendly, and efficient service to all Customers is not negotiable
  • Ability to Remain calm and focused regardless of pressure from customers, management and colleagues is important
  • To understand the needs of management and colleagues within the store and to effectively communicate with them
  • Ability to work in harmony with management and colleagues and to amicably resolve disputes as they occur

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Lenasia, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:


  • Sales: 3 years (preferred)
  • Hardware: 2 years (required)
