    Description

    We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated junior legal candidate to join our dynamic legal team in Pretoria. As a junior legal candidate, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to various legal projects under the guidance of experienced attorneys. This position offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development in a supportive and collaborative environment.

    Area: Pretoria

    Closing date: End March 2024

    Salary: R R17 000

    Responsibilities:

    1. Assist senior attorneys in conducting legal research and drafting legal documents, including briefs, contracts, and agreements.
    2. Prepare and file legal documents with relevant authorities and courts.
    3. Support attorneys in preparing for negotiations, hearings, and trials by organizing and summarizing case materials.
    4. Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
    5. Maintain organized case files and databases, ensuring all documents and correspondence are accurately recorded and easily accessible.
    6. Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations and assist in updating internal policies and procedures accordingly.
    7. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
    8. Other duties as assigned to support the legal team and firm's objectives.

    Requirements:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Law or related field from a reputable institution.
    2. Recent graduate with a strong academic record.
    3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in other languages considered a plus.
    4. Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex legal issues.
    5. Proficiency in legal research methods and tools.
    6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    7. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
    9. Demonstrated commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
    10. Previous internship or work experience in a legal setting is preferred but not required.

    The candidate should be prepared to tackle difficult tasks head-on, without hesitation.
