    You will be responsible for managing a team of bookkeepers, trainee accountants as well as professional accountants. You will also be expected to build and maintain strong client and team relationships through consistent collaboration and timeous work of exceptional quality.

    Main areas of focus will include:

  • Manage a large team of accounting professionals and trainees
  • Identify and track training development needs of the team
  • Support and provide training to the team
  • Planning, presenting and implementing annual strategic objectives
  • Monthly reporting of operational and strategic performance
  • Preparation of fee proposals to clients
  • Perform quality reviews on work performed by the team and tracking improvements
  • Tracking and improving overall staff efficiency, quality and service delivery
  • Create, maintain and improve service line policies, procedures and process flows
  • Quick reaction to client queries and collaboration with related departments/seniors
  • Review of financial statement compilations
  • Review of independent Review engagements
  • Presentation of management report to senior management (clients)
  • Review, send and follow-up on client fee proposals
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and team members
  • Continuously be on the look-out for innovative opportunities to improve on efficiency, quality and service delivery
  • Supporting and training the team on all accounting related tasks, including the following: Performing balance sheet reconciliations Calculation of VAT & EMP return information and reconciliations Completion of VAT & EMP returns Processing of payroll information Fixed asset register maintenance and wear-and-tear allowance calculations COID Return of Earning calculation and preparation SARS verifications/audits/queries Calculation of provisional taxes Preparation of Formal and Standard management report Analytical procedures and understanding of purpose and results Preparation of Financial Statement Compilations Preparation of Independent Review procedures and engagements of Financial Statements Submission/filing of VAT and EMP returns Preparation and filing of EMP reconciliations and IRP5 Certificates Submission of COIDA Return of Earnings
    • Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional Accountant registered at SAIPA/CIMA/SAICA or similar professional body
  • Xero Certified Advisor Certificate
  • Minimum 7 Years experience in a management role of a medium-sized team of accounting professionals and/or trainees
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Xero Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working closely with clients and maintaining excellent client relationships
  • Good experience in servicing group of companies
  • Excellent understanding of COID and UIF compliance requirements and processes with the Department of Labour
  • Excellent experience with SARS processes and collaboration
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience
  • Compilation Engagements
  • CaseWare Working Papers experience
  • IFRS for SME's
  • VAT Act
  • Companies Act
  • Income Tax Act
