The incumbent for the Academic Leader (Community Engagement) position will be a
permanent serving academic staff member in the School of Accounting, Economics
& Finance. S/he will serve as a member of the School Management Committee and
School Board. S/he will be responsible for providing academic leadership in civic
engagement and forging partnerships with industry, governments, and civic
organisations.
S/he will be actively involved in practice-based learning, scholarship of engagement,
and community outreach activities. S/he will be responsible for the administrative
processes relating to the portfolio as set out in the job profile and will liaise with the
College Deans of Research and Teaching/Learning on matters of common interest.
The incumbent will report to the Dean and Head of School.
Minimum Requirements
- Doctoral degree at the level of Senior Lecturer or above.
- Performing at, or above, the norm of expectation at the level of appointment.
- Good track record in administrative, communication, and time management skills.
- Experience in public and civic engagement relevant to the position.
- Experience in developing and managing academic programmes and community
The total remuneration package offered includes benefits. Appointment to this post
will be on the January 2018 Conditions of service.
