The incumbent for the Academic Leader (Community Engagement) position will be a

permanent serving academic staff member in the School of Accounting, Economics

& Finance. S/he will serve as a member of the School Management Committee and

School Board. S/he will be responsible for providing academic leadership in civic

engagement and forging partnerships with industry, governments, and civic

organisations.

S/he will be actively involved in practice-based learning, scholarship of engagement,

and community outreach activities. S/he will be responsible for the administrative

processes relating to the portfolio as set out in the job profile and will liaise with the

College Deans of Research and Teaching/Learning on matters of common interest.

The incumbent will report to the Dean and Head of School.

Minimum Requirements

Doctoral degree at the level of Senior Lecturer or above.
Performing at, or above, the norm of expectation at the level of appointment.
Good track record in administrative, communication, and time management skills.
Experience in public and civic engagement relevant to the position.
Experience in developing and managing academic programmes and community

projects.

The total remuneration package offered includes benefits. Appointment to this post

will be on the January 2018 Conditions of service.
