    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

  • To define and, engineer and execute (develop, test and implement software tools or programs to automate technical operations) the Automation strategy for Vodacom South Africa(SA),is in collaboration with Vodacom/Vodafone group inclusive of capabilities, technology, customer experience and operational models. Drive the adoption of automation across all business and channels where applicable to become one of the driving lever that facilitates customer self-self-service and operational efficiencies driving CX improvement and contact reduction.
  • Possess both commercial acumen to set strategy and business objectives, as well as technical competence to develop and build platforms and journeys.
  • Drive the rollout and adoption of "automation capabilities", across the South African and share with the markets where relevant, ensuring the most impactful journeys are prioritized and the user experience is world class. This includes identifying opportunities length and breadth of the organisation.

    • Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and agree overall Automation and AI vision and strategy for IT Data enablement and Automation for Self Service and Robotics enablement Consumer, providing delivery via the business Automation team.
  • Be the driver of the implementation of the automation strategy and from concept to implementation.
  • This will include setting up teams who develop, test, and implement software tools or programs to automate technical operations.
  • Develop a strategy and roadmap to automate the operations environments within Vodacom SA
  • Improve experience and reduce costs through the deployment & enhancement of "Automation". Leverage and drive AI and automation capabilities into our self-service channels and products.
  • Take commercial ownership of the AI and automation landscape and ensure adoption, ROI and CX of product suite.
  • Research on AI to ensure Vodacom stays ahead of latest and best practice technologies, AI processes and implementation .
  • Lead discussion and knowledge sessions on Ai and automation within the company.

    • The Ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
  • 3-year degree or diploma in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field.
  • 8+ years extensive Chatbot delivery experience in a Telco environment
  • Experience working with multiple markets and vendors.
  • Fluent in AWS or Microsoft chatbot services.
  • Commercial aptitude to drive ROI
  • Customer driven to improve CX.
