Description

Investec Sandton is looking full stack engineer with backend focus to commence and build out our API portfolio and build integration between internal and external platforms currently in use as well as future applications and platforms. This role is within the UK Risk Assurance team and requires you to be comfortable around both the front and back-end aspects of our solutions, development frameworks and third-party libraries. Integrate the frontend into the backend of the application. Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency, as well as troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade this software.

In parallel to that, there is opportunity to support transformation projects from enhancing existing features to developing brand new applications that push the boundaries of what is possible. Experience, skill and capability

• You are a software engineer at heart, and you are enjoying writing code to solve problems

• You are curious about innovative technologies and how the financial industry works

 You hold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systems
 You thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
 You have strong experience building backend software

• You are interested in distributed systems and writing resilient, scalable, and secure software
 You have experience building software in a statically typed language (C#, Java, Go etc.)

• You enjoy and have experience building APIs

• You are familiar with how to build applications in Azure

• You have experience building event driven architectures

• You have some experience building web applications using Angular or React
