A terrific, hybrid opportunity has become available for a Mid-Weight Conceptual Copywriter to work on the in-house brand of a top, national South African retailer in Cape Town.


This exciting role will see you translating marketing and branding strategies into innovative and exciting campaigns by developing effective and meaningful content, copy, ideas, and scripts in the in-house creative team.

As Copywriter, you will be responsible for writing and editing a variety of campaigns, working closely with the creative team to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts and articulate messaging.


Responsibilities:


  • Working with the creative team to create exceptional creative work
  • Using key messages to develop work for multiple communication channels, including ATL, Digital and Non-Traditional
  • Producing a variety of highquality copy solutions, from punchy shortform to persuasive longform
  • Interpret creative briefs to develop concepts for execution with assigned brands
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of marketing and communications materials
  • Collaborate with a team of account managers and creative staff, from concept development to delivery of final product
  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to internal team — and to client representative when requested — and participate occasionally in client pitches
  • Revise copy based on internal feedback.

Requirements:


  • Relevant tertiary Degree/Diploma
  • 4+ years' experience in copywriting within a mainstream advertising agency
  • Knowledge/understanding of storytelling principles across various channels and digital
  • Fully integrated copywriting experience above and belowtheline
  • Exceptional writing and research skills
  • Agency experience mandatory
  • Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills and multitasking ability
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to influence people through creative ideas and written work
  • Able to relate well to people good team worker
  • Interpersonal skills
