  • The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the mechanical workshop.
  • The workshop supervisor had to work alongside with the staff in the workshop.
  • Responsible for budgets for the purchase of materials, fixings and fastenings and tools to ensure the smooth progression of projects through the workshop.
  • Responsible for the quality of work carried out and performs incoming and outgoing inspection on all parts and assemblies or delegates that work.
  • Maintain safe working practises.
  • Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the Logistical Manager and Branch Manager.
  • Will be required to undertake manufacturing tasks and assist the through put of work through the workshop.
  • Manage the planned maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Train staff and monitor their performance and progress.
  • Oversee all workshop employees, including creating schedules, providing coaching and mentoring, and issuing corrective action when required.
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.
  • Maintaining tools and machinery to a safe standard and in line with H & S Policy.
  • Introducing new systems if and where needed.
  • Control the attendance register.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:


  • Professional technical qualification, mechanical, electrical and hydraulics' will be of great advantage.
  • Consideration will be given if you have a combination of mechanical skills and experience in a workshop.
  • Knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and workshop best practices.
  • Ability to work with people at various levels from shop floor to senior management.
  • People management skills and the ability to motivate others.
  • Quality and productivity focused.
  • Experience in the agricultural machinery industry will be of great benefit.
  • Problem solving is a very important requirement.
