My experience is vast and stretches through business within South Africa to the shores of England, Australia as well as the U.S. The focus of my training and work experience over the past two decades has predominantly been focused within travel, hospitality, managing teams and of course customer service.
I have had a very blessed and stable career up until Covid hit our industry and for that reason I have had to make drastic decisions on a way forward. Which is how I obtained my current position as Retreat Manager, onboard Celebrity Cruises. My current position is in a nutshell, managing a boutique hotel, within a hotel. I am in charge of all the Suites, the guests that stay in these suites as well as an extremely well-trained team of concierge and butlers.
The role also requires me to run and manage the exclusive retreat lounge and Retreat Sundeck. Another huge part of the role is to arrange events like weddings, exclusive sail-away cocktail parties and other special events. These are our highest paying guests and literally anything they want, I am at their beck and call.
I have also worked for companies like the Legacy Hotel Group and of course Tourvest, representing American Express concierge services and their leisure brand as their National Operations Manager.

The reason I am seeking a position back in South Africa is purely that I feel the industry is slowly returning back to the norm. Although I love travelling and the diversity of the cruise ships, I find that as a mature individual I would like to return back home and lay roots once again. A new beginning if you will.
