Hi, I'm Sue, a disabled person who needs to work from home. I'm hugely proficient and highly experienced in my field, with many letters of recommendation. I edit, write, and understand statistics. I've been a peer reviewer and a managing editor within academic fields. I'm also a registered lay counsellor with an interest in coaching people to prevent burnout.

Experience

I've been working as a freelance academic editor for the past seven years, mainly through Scribbr but also for various publishers on short-term contracts. I've also edited fiction and non-academic books. I was a legal editor for three years. I'm an accredited text editor through the Professional Editors' Guild of SA.

I'm statistically literate. 

Some of my friends are  journalists or news sub-editors, so I know a good deal about that line of work too.

In addition, I'm a writer and have self-published books and other documents. I have coached and tutored other writers and editors as well as academic students. 

I've also counselled and coached clients in the wellness field.
