Shabaaz Abdullah

I am enthusiastic young research and analytical chemist with an MSc degree in Chemistry. I am self-driven, passionate about furthering my education and can work really well in teams. I work well at assisting others and I'm not afraid to ask about things I have yet to learn.
 

Research chemist, February 2018 – June 2021

• Formulation chemistry – designed and synthesised organic and inorganic drugs in an approach to make anti-cancer agents using different synthetic procedures.
• Analytical chemistry – analysed compounds using various spectroscopic instruments like nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, and mass spectroscopy.
• Chromatography – separated and analysed compounds using chromatographical techniques like thin layer chromatography, gas chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography. 
• Chemistry programmes – used and became familiar with programs like ChemDraw, TopSpin, Mercury, WinGX, MestReNova and Agilent softwares.

I have achieved a Master's degree in Chemistry where I have learnt skills including, but not limited to, formulation chemistry, analytical chemistry, and chromatography. I am well versed with gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, mass spectroscopy, infrared, ultraviolet-visible and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
