Schalk Brink

I am a 26 year old passionate and driven individual, currently running my own business of self catering short term rentals in Mookgopong/ Naboomspruit in Limpopo.

I have a double honorable degree in international hospitality and tourism management from Manchester university (MMU) in the UK and the International management institute in Switzerland (IMI).

My previous work experience includes:

• 6 month housekeeping internship in a 3 star hotel (Hotel des Horologe's) in Geneva, Switzerland
• 1 year internship working as a food expeditor at frenchman’s Creek beach and country club in Palm Beach Gardens, USA

• 6 Months freelancing in Ecuador, South America

• 3 years Running my own self catering short term rental business in Naboomspruit (Aquarius Hot springs)

Interpersonal skills:

My staunch Christian faith in addition to working and studying abroad has taught me to work, connect and respect a variety of different cultures and beliefs. Although I am semi introverted I enjoy interacting with people, and learning from them.

Practicing martial arts for over 10 years helped me to cultivate a high level of self control and discipline.

Running and managing my short term rental business for the past few years enhanced my ability to solve problems and being accountable whilst staying calm and collected. I have also learned and implemented multiple ideas and strategies into my own business in order to increase revenue.  

My previous work experience includes:

• 6 month internship in a 3 star hotel (Hotel des Horologe's) in Geneva, Switzerland. My duties included housekeeping and setting up the breakfast station.

• 1 year internship working as a food expeditor at frenchman’s Creek beach and country club in Palm Beach Gardens, USA. My main duties was being the link between the kitchen and the servers and assuring that the residents receive their meal in a timely manner and ensuring that they are satisfied.

• 6 Months freelancing in Ecuador, South America. I assisted a friend with starting up a small Airbnb business

• 3 years Running my own self catering short term rental business in Naboomspruit (Aquarius Hot springs). I currently have my own small business that I have grown to a point where it is semi passive. 

I finished my Matric at Hoërskool Dirk Postma. Afterwards I went to study abroad and obtained a double honours degree in international hospitality and tourism management from Manchester university (MMU) and the International Management Institute in Switzerland (IMI).
