Sasha Jooste

My name is Sasha, I am a design graduate currently working as a freelance multi-disciplined designer.

I’m a 24 year old designer from Somerset West. I obtained my BA degree (Cum-Laude) in Fashion Design from Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design in 2020. Throughout my studies, we had a large focus on digital design with CAD subjects. This led me to progress more in the graphic design field after studies. Thereafter, I’ve been working on some of my own projects, freelance designing for clients and a few independent work ventures such as au-pairing and working in retail. 

However, I’m looking for a stable work environment that will assist me in growing and learning as a designer with the security and parameters offered by industry. In reciprocation, I can fulfill my briefs and deliver high-quality work in an efficient manner that would benefit my employer.

My most recent projects are varied and include multiple design disciplines such as photo retouching, fashion, photography, art, graphic design and website design.

For example, my most recent on-going project is editing and “revamping” the website for Martin House School in Zambia. Furthermore, retouching photos for clients which include working closely with the photographers and models involved to bring the brand’s image to life.

Other recent projects include taking start-up brand’s ideas from concept to reality. This includes creating moodboards, tech packs, technical drawings, fashion illustrations and aiding production.

My technical competence includes experience working on Adobe Photoshop (8 years), Adobe Illustrator (5 years), Lightroom (2 years), InDesign (4 years), Procreate (2 years), Figma (1 year), Canva (4 years), Wordpress (1 year). 

Website Editor - Wordpress Nov 2022 - Current 

My roles include website design and editing for Martin House School in Zambia using Wordpress as a platform.

Au pairing - June 2022 - Current 

My roles include driving, feeding, assistance with homework and general caring for 2 children.

Sales Associate - Lira and Fynn - April 2022 - June 2022

My role included being responsible for the store, providing customer service, knowing and selling the products, quality checking garments, admin for the brand, handling consignment, cashing up and stock take.

Freelancing Graphic and Fashion Design Services - March 2021 - March 2022

Various freelancing gigs for clients. I provided photo retouching services, logo design, technical drawings, garment tech packs and spec sheets, fashion illustrations, mood boards etc.

Custom Design - Feb 2021 - November 2021

Custom orders for clients. Bringing client’s ideas to life and creating custom garments for clients. Roles included measuring the clients, patternmaking, fabric sourcing, sewing and alterations.

Running brand - Eunoia the Brand - November 2020 - March 2022

Running my own small business. Roles included social media, photo editing, photo hoots, fashion designing and more. IG: @eunoia_thebrand

Graphic Design Intern - Code Lab - 1 October 2020 - 30 October 

Internship was hosted by Codelab. My roles included logo development, icon creation and designing mock- ups. I proficiently used programs such as Figma and Photoshop.
