Worked on, checking of all different types of data at the Surveyor General Office, and 
reconstructing the cadastral information from old farm diagrams, data capture and the 
cadastral database build. All cadastral datasets, where used for checks on the Land Audits for 
the various Local Municipalities.
Experience in municipal environment by having undertaken work for various Local 
Municipalities. Knowledge of planning and development processes. Promote the use of GIS 
in liaison with the GIS Department. Providing technical support, conducting vast in house 
GIS training to staff, communicating the benefits and usefulness of GIS.
Identifying applications and procedures to support the GIS Department aims, objectives and 
management requirements. Investigating and specifying hardware, software and operating 
systems. GIS Department representing the unit in the technical liaison with other service units 
and external organisations and consultants. Keeping abreast of the latest technology and 
technology trends. These are the steps to facilitate the provision of a GIS system which is 
technically competent and reliable.
Ensuring data is captured according to specifications. Apply GIS software and other software 
in specialist applications in order to, prepare multimedia presentations, and prepare thematic 
maps on hard copy and electronic copy for presentations. Extract and manipulate the GIS for 
decision support purposes. Prepare reports and plans by sourcing and accessing available data 
from various service units and other sources in order that relevant information exists for use.
