| I am an Employee Relations professional with more than 20 years of experience in the field. Having homed my professional skills in various bargaining councils, trade union, and the CCMA, I have no doubt that given opportunity I will execute the outlined duties to the best of my ability. Based on the above, the highlights of my experience are successfully representing employees during disciplinary hearings, conciliations and arbitrations proceedings under the auspices of various bargaining councils including the CCMA. |
Experience
- Successfully defended a medical practitioner during the precautionary suspension arbitration, resulting in the Department of Health having to pay him his commuted overtime as if he was never suspended. This arbitration award is a groundbreaking outcome and precedence since medical practitioner are now getting paid commuted overtime if the suspension is done for unfair reasons.
- Successfully defended a medical practitioner in a rural allowance issue resulting in the commissioner issuing an arbitration award ordering that his allowance be restored and compensated to the amount value which could only be released and approved by the KZN Premier.
- Successfully invoked S1431a without engaging the services of an attorneys which subsequently led to compliance with an arbitration award by the DoH.
- Successfully represented medical practitioners at the MANCO meetings during the Covid19 pandemic leading to institutions complying with the NICD guidelines.
- Being recognized by the Acting Head of ER as an exceptional performing employee during the performance assessment for 2017/2018/2019 /2020 mid - year.
- During the COVID19 pandemic I played a very instrumental role in ensuring that there is compliance with COIDA and OHSA regulations, in addition to that, through participating in various engagements with the office of the Premier SAMA was able to ensure that there is provision of adequate PPE to the health professionals in the KZN health facilities.
