Duties: Monitoring of the Production Batch. Looking out for aborted/failed jobs, long running jobs, jobs that have not started 

on their scheduled run time and 

monitoring alerts/ warnings that appear. This would be done using various monitoring tools e.g. Sintelligence, Automic (V8, V10 and V12), DFR and SQL dashboard. When there are failures, long running jobs or alerts. There must be an escalation made to the standby person on call duty. An incident should be logged on CA Service Desk, a tool used to keep track of the processes that were done by the standby person in resolving the incident and for it to be discussed in the DAILY SERVICE FORUM meeting as to what caused the issue. During shifts we complete checklists as well as Human Interventions which would be sent to the Service Managers in the Day/ Night shift report so that they have a record as to what happened during the shift. During the night/day shifts we make sure that all batches start/complete within their SLA (Service Level Agreement) so that all reports are sent out to the business, Suppliers and Distribution Centres have their orders. During night shifts or global issues affecting Woolworths we would assist the Service Management Centre taking and logging of incidents. As a 2IC ( Second In Command of shift ) I would have the duty of contacting and reporting to the Service Managers of any issues happening during the shift to inform them of who is attending, what is the impact to any peer systems. If the issue is not being resolved I would keep them updated every +- 30 minutes as to the situation at the time. I would also be in charge of training the new employees by showing them how to monitor and report correctly.
