  3. Role Overview
  4. 1 year contract for new Security Blueprint Project. The project scope covered 163 global sites with 26 000 employees. Responsible for the new security blueprint for all physical security over all locations, which was set up to safeguard all personnel, visitors, contractors and physical locations. All security functions of Tetra Pak are outsourced with no in-house physical security function. Due to COVID travel restrictions, all tasks were completed virtually, making the assignment exceptionally difficult; however, the tasks were completed satisfactorily and on time by identifying key stakeholders to form part of the project team who served as the eyes and ears on the ground. Project team (10) consisted of a Sponsor, Project Manager, Subject Specialist, 3 regional Team Members (from Middle East, Africa and Russia), IT Specialist, Security Governance and 2 Facilities Specialists. Aim of the project is to ensure full compliance and this is done by sponsored security work group that consisted of various internal business functions. Budget for the project was preapproved and controlled by Tetra Pak, with no over runs. Project also made use of external stakeholders such as Sodexo, CBRE, Hatari Consulting. Currently, all sites in Greater Middle East and Africa adhere to all compliance regulations.

  6. Key Deliverables
  • Act as subject specialist, reviewing and recommending all physical security components for its GME&A locations (factories and office locations) to ensure all Tetra Laval Security Guidelines and compliance are met.
  • Responsible for physical security at all Tetra Pak locations globally (163 locations, 26 000 employees).
  • Advise the Property Department on all new office locations with regards to physical security requirements in line with individual country risk ratings as compiled by Tetra Pak and Control Risks.
  • Consult with Regional Managers on site security requirements to ensure that all locations comply with Tetra Laval Security Guidelines.
  • Authorize all new physical security upgrades and new installations at new locations.
  • Attend (via Teams, WebEx) weekly meetings with collaborators, suppliers, and project team as well as conducting presentations on the Global Framework project.
  • Currently in the process of collecting and consolidating the physical security data relating to all security functions within the group.

Leadership, Advise, planning, coordination and participated in Executive Protection assignments according to client-specific requests, all assignments were completed within budget and without incidents, resulting in a positive cash flow for the business

  • Developed and facilitated security briefings for ex-pats that came to work and live in Africa for short term/extended stays as well as providing support during residence.
  • Planned, managed and participated in a 30-day assignment of a well-respected Scandinavian Global company when they brought their top performers (84 people in total) for a workshop and Holiday to South Africa
  • Planned managed and participated in a family holiday visit in East Africa (14 days) for the owners of one of the biggest privately held toy manufacturing companies in the world
  • Planned, managed and participated in various Fortune 100 organizations executive business visits to South and East Africa.
  • All projects completed under this role were successfully completed within the budget parameters obtained from quotes provided.
  1. Corporate Security
  • Provided leadership and guidance on project management assignments with regards to security upgrades and installations, all projects completed within budget and time allocated.
  • Recruited security staff and contractors as well as oversee actual contracts to ensure “SLAs” were fulfilled, and that all budgets stayed within parameters.
  • Developed and implemented “IT” security policies that complied to international standards.

  • Designed and implemented various security surveys, Risk Assessments, plans and presentations, for multinational organisations.
  • Completed risk analyses for new business ventures and developed risk mitigation measures as well as background investigations on new partners and organisations.
  • Assisted a Forensics organisation in loss prevention investigations for Pioneer Foods, successfully reduced actual loss for their supply chain and uncovered organised crime syndicates.
