About Ntombizodwa Buthelezi:

I have obtained a degree in Political Science, and a NQF level 6 certificate in Project Management.

I have gained and continue to acquire skills in the Learning and Development & Governance as a Programme Administrator where I am mostly responsible for ensuring that I carry out project effectively and efficiently, by providing support on general administration duties as necessary, including organizing internal meetings, minutes-taking, responding to external enquiries, liaison with service providers, booking of services, record-keeping and filing. Upholding the legal requirements of governing documents, training documents and declarations as well as doing bookings and reservations for different presentations report writing and constant interaction with the Senior Manager. Organizing logistical arrangements for events and programme staff including event budgeting and expenses monitoring, travel, accommodation, travel insurance, visa application and shuttle arrangements.  Manage all aspects of procurement for the programme including vendor administration, issuing of purchase orders and coordinating with the finance department for payments.  

Outside my academic and professional environment. I am strongly encouraged by Youth empowerment and Education. I am an Ahmed Kathrada Foundation Alumni, MCCA Youth group where I was sent to Birmingham, Alabama to liaise with different young people and share ideas and innovative ways to improve and impact change positively. I had the opportunity to attend the COP 17 Conference that assess progress in dealing with climate change. I was also one of the few chosen young people to attend the budget speech that was conducted by the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation on the 25th May 2017.
 

Experience

I have 5 years experience in the private sector and 6 years experience in the government sector. In those years of experience I have developed the ability to carry out project administration effectively and efficiently, by providing support on general administration duties as necessary, including organizing meetings, minutes-taking, responding to external enquiries from municipalities and other stakeholders such as the LGSETA, Institutions of Higher Learning etc. 

  • Enhanced collaborative efforts with improved handling of communications and related files and liaising with training service providers and SAP processes from ordering to payment and budget shifting.
  • Booking of services, record-keeping and filing, upholding the legal requirements of governing documents, training documents and declarations as well as doing bookings and reservations for different events. 
  • Compiling presentations, report writing and constant interaction with the Senior Managers, including the Chief Officer responsible for the cluster. Organizing logistical arrangements for events and programme staff including event budgeting and expenses monitoring, making personal travel arrangements, accommodation, travel insurance, visa application and shuttle arrangements. 
  •  Manage all aspects of procurement in line with the supply chain policy and procedures for the programme including coordinating with vendors on compliance documents requirements, issuing of purchase orders and coordinating with the finance department for payments of invoices. Greeting of incoming guests and directing individuals to correct meeting spaces.

I have also developed the ability of Increasing awareness of Emergency Management Services and Operations and developing positive perception of EMS- Its services, programs and people.

  • .Reducing the need of services through effective change in environment and behavior as well as increasing ability to better target communities at risk and viewing education as a fire and injury prevention strategy to communities. 
  • Offering programs such as Learn Not To Burn, Juvenile Fire Setter, Water Safety, Motor Vehicle Safety, Bike Safety, Pedestrian Safety, Choking/ Suffocation, Poisoning Prevention, Falls Prevention, Firearm Injury Prevention, Fire Safety & Evacuation, Basic Fire Fighting, Bucket Brigade, Community Emergency Response Teams, School Emergency Response Teams, CPR. 
  • The programs take place in forms of Awareness Displays, Career Guidance and Demonstrations.   
  • Providing basic first aid and basic fire trainings.
