Nic Velini

I'm Nicolas! I live in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa. My main focus and passion is filmmaking, specifically Directing, producing and writing. I love to be behind the camera, capturing moments and telling stories through the lens.

When I'm not making films, I have two other passions that keep me busy. The first is motorsports. I have a deep love for fast cars and the thrill of speed. Whether I'm watching a race or behind the wheel myself, there's nothing quite like the adrenaline rush.

My other passion is bartending. I enjoy the creative side of mixing and creating drinks, a beautiful and balanced cocktail is a work of art.

Overall, I'm a creative, passionate person who is always looking for new experiences and ways to express myself. Whether it's through filmmaking, motorsports, or bartending, I am always eager to take on new challenges and make the most out of life.

I am a producer with a passion for video and photo production, specifically films. I have multiple years of experience, from humble beginnings in high school where I did video editing and graphic design work for music studios. To now having worked for years as a part of large-scale productions.

I have extensive experience in creating budgets and schedules for clients such a Netflix for film projects with impressive financial backing. I have had the pleasure of working with international producers from the USA, Spain, the Netherlands and more. I have also engaged with and created connections with international commercial, documentary and film clients.

In addition to my producing skillset, I am also a writer and director, having recently finished a short film project where I worked with award-winnning local talent, including actors and musicians.

For a few years, I have been assisting the producer behind popular projects such as district 9 (nominated for best picture at the Oscars), Dredd and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Working with world-class producers and working on sets with budgets in excess of $50 million has given me the ability and track record to handle high-pressure situations and deliver outstanding results.
 

I pursued my studies online, with a focus on business and law, giving me a comprehensive understanding of business concepts and practices.
