Mmamana Victor Matsheletsa
Home Services / Social Care
Services offered
I am a Psychosocial Support Worker with a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Psychology & Counselling), bringing together over 15 years of experience in credit control and corporate environments with a solid foundation in mental health and psychosocial support. I am passionate about promoting mental well-being through Ubuntu-centred and trauma-informed care, viewing individuals not merely as cases, but as human beings to be understood within their relational, cultural, and systemic contexts.
Among the many approaches in counselling and psychosocial support, I primarily work from a Person-Centred Approach and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, integrating techniques from other counselling modalities as guided by the client’s presenting concerns and individual needs.
My background in credit control has strengthened my skills in professional communication, ethical practice, accountability, documentation, and stakeholder engagement, enabling me to function effectively within structured, high-responsibility environments. I am committed to co-creating safe, empowering spaces where healing, resilience, and holistic wellness can thrive.
Experience
I have extensive experience across credit control, corporate finance environments, and psychosocial support services. My background includes over 15 years in credit control, where I managed accounts receivable, conducted credit assessments, resolved payment disputes, and maintained strong client relationships through professional communication and negotiation. Alongside this, I have worked as a Psychosocial Support Worker, providing individual and group support, mental health education, crisis intervention, and referrals within community, educational, and organisational settings. Across both fields, I bring a strong commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, accurate documentation, and collaborative work, enabling me to operate effectively in both people-centred and results-driven environments.
Education
I hold a Bachelor of Applied Social Science in Psychology and Counselling, which provided a strong foundation in mental health, counselling theories, psychosocial support, and ethical practice. My academic training emphasised person-centred, trauma-informed, and solution-focused approaches, as well as community-based interventions, group facilitation, and professional documentation. This education complements my corporate experience by strengthening my communication, analytical thinking, and people-centred problem-solving skills.
