Additionally, my experience extends to globally recognized names such as Cape Town Tourism, Santam, Absa, Puma, Foremost Golf (UK), TaylorMade, Titleist (UK), The UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale), and Matahari, Indonesia's largest clothing and homeware retailer.
Personal portfolio and achievements
In 2018, I started and invested in a distribution business with two partners after identifying a gap in the market for triathlon, running, and cycling equipment. I developed the brand and was responsible for the marketing and communication strategies. After three years, I sold my shares in the business. I have always been passionate about sports, particularly long-distance endurance sports, having been a competitive triathlete and long-distance endurance athlete, primarily focused on IronMan triathlon racing. I am driven by achieving my personal goals and I am disciplined and dedicated to putting in the work. I have completed 16 full-distance IronMan races and have qualified and raced three IronMan World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. I have also completed 2 Cape Epics, 4 Comrades Marathons, multiple Two Oceans Ultras, and over 35 full marathons. Through my success in multiple endurance events, I have built a brand of my own and developed close relationships with reputable sponsors and partners over the past 13 years. My sponsors include many well-known brands such as Puma, Pavé Sports, Felt, Rush Nutrition, Maurten, Compex, and Ford South Africa to name a few. I am also deeply involved in many charitable initiatives, using my passion for endurance sports as a vehicle to drive awareness and raise funds for community projects in South Africa. I was the first person to complete the Unogwaja Challenge three consecutive times (2015 / 2016 / 2017). Unogwaja involves over 2000 km of cycling for 10 days from Cape Town to Pietermaritzburg, to complete the Comrades Marathon on the 11th day, all in aid of charity. In addition, I belong to various sports and recreation initiatives, using key public figures and influencers to raise awareness, funds, and supplies to communities and non-profit organisations in need. I am married and a new father to a little girl. Additional hobbies I enjoy include golf, swimming, travelling, safari and nature (yearly family holiday to the bush), family time, socialising with friends and my broader network, and good food and wine. I have dual citizenship and hold both South African and Portuguese passports, which aids travel both personally and in my working career.
