Laila Haniff

I am a newly qualified Educator, who has completed a Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate Phase, specializing in Mathematics and Natural Science in my Degree. I have a specific interest in teaching Afrikaans First Additional Language as I have high knowledge and skills to successfully teach this subject. 
 

I possess strong teaching and classroom management skills, including effective lesson planning, assessment, and differentiated instruction to support diverse learners. I communicate clearly and confidently, allowing me to explain concepts simply, engage learners, and maintain positive relationships with parents and colleagues. I am patient, empathetic, well-organised, and adaptable, with the ability to manage time efficiently and respond to challenges professionally. I am learner-centred in my approach, using appropriate educational technology and administrative skills to track progress and support both academic and social development.

I have four years of tutoring experience (2022–2026) across all subjects in the Intermediate Phase, with a strong focus on Afrikaans First Additional Language. Through this experience, I have developed strong skills in explaining concepts clearly, adapting lessons to individual learner needs, reinforcing classroom learning, improving language proficiency, and building learner confidence. I am experienced in one-on-one and small-group support, assessment reinforcement, and using learner-centred strategies to improve academic performance.
