Karabo Hlahla

I, Karabo Hlahla am a graduate in BA Hons in Communication with Advanced Corporate Communication from North West University. I am a full honours graduate with experience in internal and external communication and would love to be selected in the advertised role. I am very enthusiastic and extremely driven to achieve positive outcomes and I believe that I have procured the applicable abilities that places me in an ideal position to be considered for role.

In 2018, I was a Supplemental Instruction facilitator for first year students, which have developed and improved my interpersonal skills and the way I relate with people/students within the community of NWU Mahikeng campus. Being a facilitator improved my communication management skills, self-confidence to be able to stand in front of a large group of students and facilitating them.
Also, I was elected into office by students of NWU Mahikeng Kgosi Montshioa residence to be their Sports & Recreation officer for the term 2018/19. With this duty, responsibility came to be number one priority, whereby I was exposed to difficult situations that groomed me to be a better leader that I am today.
In 2019, I became a student assistant in the Centre for Teaching & Learning at NWU whereby I gained experience of doing communication and media projects for lecturers and students. This opportunity was beneficial as it had exposed me to internal article publications, photography, videography and graphic designing. Furthermore, my duties included assisting 1st year students with basic computer literacy.
Additionally, I have worked under the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme through the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture as mentor to upcoming artists in all the 9 provinces. Currently I am with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a Communication and Media Liaison Intern, where I gained massive experience in internal & external communication and knowledge of government communication and media processes and an enhanced writing skills.
