About joanelle meyer:

I am a energetic, young professional looking to broaden my knowledge and experience in the Human Resource industry. I am eager to learn and adapt quickly. I have experience in Recruitment, Learning and Development and Employee relations. 

I have strong interpersonal skills from the start of my University career. Due to the nature of the industry, I have greatly improved my ability to view a problem from different points before providing an appropriate solution. I have a good understanding of people and how to manage different situations. 

 

Experience

I started working while I was in University as a Public Relations Assistant. This is where I learnt how to work with different types of people while conducting brandy tastings. I did front of house duties, stock take and cash up duties. 

I then received a job offer as a Data Capturer at a non-profit organisation. Here I did electronic data capturing and filing, as well as inputting data received. I assisted in recruiting interns of one of the programmes at the organisation. This consisted of shortlisting applicants, arranging interviews and panel discussions of interviews. 

I am currently an HR Intern in operations. I do various duties within operations, helping the stores with necessary HR enquiries. My duties is recruitment, learning and development, employee relations and general operations duties. below are the duties: 

  • Shortlisting applicants 
  • Screening applicants 
  • Arranging interviews
  • Drafting contracts and payslips 
  • Recruitment reports
  • Keeping track of vacancies
  • Assist with employee transfers 
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Conduct exit interviews 
  • Assisting with e-learning platforms
  • Keeping track of training 
  • Consolidating monthly Labour report
  • Exposure to disciplinary hearing
  • Assisting store managers with HR matters 
  • General adhoc duties

Education

I attended Stellenbosch University where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in BA Human Resource Management.
