Cameron Oosthuysen

I am a passionate educator who believes that every person, can reach their
full potential. My goal is to grow and develop my teaching skills, so that
learners can reach their full potential. I have more than ten years teaching
experience in both China and South Korea where I developed and learnt
new methods to enhance my skills particularly in using technology in the
classroom. My strengths are my interpersonal skills and ability to work in
teams.I am very patient with students of all ages and skill levels. I am
committed to lifelong learning and I am excited to learn new teaching
methods to enhance and expand my skills. I believe that the learning
environment should be fun and interactive to encourage students and
coworkers to do their absolute best. Together with my love of teaching, I
have a deep calling to coaching young people in sport which I believe
teaches people many life skills.

I have gained extensive teaching experience across South Africa, China, and South Korea, working with learners of various ages and language levels. My teaching career has primarily focused on English language education, where I have helped students develop their speaking, listening, reading and conversational skills through engaging and interactive lessons. I have also taught adult learners online and have experience designing specialised speaking materials and worksheets to support students at different proficiency levels. 

In addition to my ESL teaching experience, I have worked as a substitute teacher in South Africa, teaching both Afrikaans and Technology, where I supported learners’ language development and technology comprehension while maintaining clear communication with parents through regular progress reports. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to creating supportive learning environments, adapting my teaching methods to meet learners’ needs and contributing to student development both inside and outside the classroom.

I received my B.Ed degree at the University of Johannesburg where I did my practicals at various schools with different ages and ethnicities. Apart from my university degree I also obtained a TEFL certificate at TEFL-On-The-Beach before I went to Korea.
