Carmen Cowlen

I am a young, energetic educator who has accomplished an Bed in foundation phase at a Curro holdings institution. I have +- 10 years experience in the public sector. I seek to further my skills and knowledge with regards to anything entailing the education sector. I am friendly and work well with peers. I love to meet and work with new people. 

I currently work for the department of education with +- 10 years experience in the foundation phase. I have taught in various schools in the province (Durban- 6 years) and Newcastle (3 years and 8 months).

I served on the School Governing Body for 1 year as a treasurer for the school in Newcastle (Chelmsford Primary School). I was also the chairperson of the fundraising committee. I served as Phase head for the year 2024. 

I have also worked at First National Bank at the Pinetown branch as a data capturer on a project that took place over a period of a year.

I have also been a waitress in a restaurant named Olive and Oil based in Davenport, Durban. 

I have also assisted in churches as a Sunday School teacher, namely Grave Tabernacle Church (Durban) and God's Kingdom ministries (Newcastle). 

I volunteerily assisted a Social Worker to gain some experience. 

I hold a matric certificate and a Bed in foundation phase which was completed at a Curro holdings institution (Embury institution).
