Banathi Kiviet

An experienced communication specialist with three years joint experience in corporate communications, events planning, employee engagement and advocacy in a chemical industry. 

I have experience in medium to large corporation and have been part of teams that have successfully developed and implemented communication strategies. During my graduate programme, I stepped up as an Acting Communications Manager at BASF Southern Africa as part of the mandate to support the implementation of communications activities across Southern Africa when the position was vacant- the experience that equipped me with skills to operate in a fast paced environment. 

In addition to my experience, I hold a Bachelor of Social Science in Communication from the University of Fort Hare and a Diploma in Public Relations from Varsity College. To further enhance my leadership capabilities, I also completed Future Leaders Development Programme from Wits Business School. 

I believe that Communicators are instrumental to improving workplace morale and efficiencies through communications and this area is close to my heart.

Sourcing content and developing local and Market Area Africa-wide internal newsletters: Engaged newsletter and African Heartbeat magazine Developing the comms plan as well as the messaging content. Supporting business units with their internal and external communications needs: strategy, general communication, content calendars, campaigns, branding, creative briefing and roll-out. Assisting with developing and executing a communication and engagement strategy for the project as well as the measurement thereof.
