Working closely with Civil engineers, Telecommunication engineers, signalling engineers and Industrial engineers in a multi-disciplinary work environment to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget to maintain and upgrade the rail network for efficient movement of trains to satisfy customer demands. Responsible for estimating material, construction, and labour costs, and project timescales. Duties: 

• Identifying company requirements, designing drawings and specifications of upgrades. 

• To effectively plan maintenance on the rail network, specifically OHTE and substations, to ensure a safe and available system, cost effectively, supporting, and enabling achievement of the MDS.

 • Conduct condition assessment (IMV, MICA, Infra-red and footplate inspection) 

• Plan and manage Electrical project particularly refurbishment that currently in Coal line Ermelo – Vryheid. 

• Cost of materials that has been utilized by electrical to prepare for the budget for the new financial year. 

• Attending meetings on site. Preparation of Electrical procedures for installation test & commissioning. 

• Reading electrical design specifications and technical drawings. Organizing routine servicing schedules. 

• Making sure all electrical engineering projects are fit for purpose. Liaising with and monitoring third party contractors. 

• Attending meetings, writing reports, and giving presentations to managers and clients.
