About Adrian Ephraim:
I've worked for more than 24 years as a writer, editor, and senior manager at the top media houses in South Africa: Mail & Guardian, IOL, Eyewitness News (Primedia), African Independent and The Star.
I've covered global and local news, business and sports events, like World Cups and the World Economic Forum (WEF). I've sat in drug houses and spoken with dealers and addicts to tell their stories.
I've interviewed my heroes and come face-to-face with those who have done more harm than good.
You can find me at the intersection of tech and content, where storytelling in all forms can build audiences, grow revenue - and change lives.
Experience
As an experienced journalist, media practitioner, and writer, I believe I have the knowledge, creativity, technical ability, and leadership skills to bring value to your organisation. I have a passion for knowledge and information and how it can be used to improve the lives of communities and their environment.
My skillset includes the following: digital marketing strategy, content strategy, CRM, product and process management, communication strategy, writing, editing, newsroom leadership, social media management, SEO and Google Analytics, website management, and experience in conceptualising and executing commercial and editorial projects.
I am meticulous, diligent and organised, with over 24 years of experience in media management of multiple projects and teams. I’ve managed teams reporting on the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa, led numerous digital newsrooms, including staff across Africa, and worked as a digital operations consultant for telecom giant Vodacom.
Education
I achieved a National Diploma in Journalism from the then Natal Technikon (now Durban University of Technology). I graduated with a Certificate of Merit in the Practice of Journalism. I have also completed a newsroom management course by the Poynter Institute. I have a broad knowledge of South Africa and the world of digital media and content. I've had the privilege of working in some of the best newsrooms in South Africa in print, digital, and radio. You can find me at the intersection of technology and content, where storytelling in all forms can build audiences, engage communities, grow revenue - and change lives.
