Authentic Integration

To be authentic is to be free of the shackles of a deprivation heritage. At the core of the deprivation dynamic is the drive to appease needs that were not promptly or effectively recognized and managed during the nurture period. The bias and limiting beliefs that arise from this situation incorporate elements of excessive self-interest (often to the detriment of others), narcissism and an insensitivity to the extended environment, specifically towards that which is not required to appease immediate self-interest needs. In terms of its configuration, this bias functions from a narrow base of own-needs. It is essentially a fear-based configuration, fearing that own-needs may not be appeased.

Authenticity is the antithesis of this bias. The authentic individual has evolved beyond the bias of self-interest. In this situation there is confidence and trust that own-needs will be appeased. Consequently the authentic individual is more connected and sensitive to the extended environment. In terms of configuration, the authentic individual functions from a broad, widely integrated base which is more inclusive and non-judgmental of the extended environment.

Based on our own research and experience we have identified five specific source elements which have been shown to enhance neuroplasticity (the intrinsic potential to create new neuronal connections - underpins learning and change) and which have therefore been incorporated into our neuromodulation approach (NeuroSurge). These source elements include: self-esteem/self-efficacy; meaning and purpose; reward/recognition gratification; achievement and value contribution (Refer to the diagram attached). Through facilitated intervention (derivation of personal mission statement, identification of talents, achievements and experiences of gratification, processes of disputation), the fundamental source elements are established uniquely for the individual. Once the application is established, the individual is introduced to the five-tiered authenticity integration. This represents a composite of mind-states and values which provides the means to effectively transcend limiting beliefs. This includes: sensitivity, empathy and a non-judgmental connection to the greater environment; calmness and trust; value contribution to self and the extended environment; gratitude and respecting mindfulness in the present. The application becomes self-perpetuating – the authenticity integration enhances the source elements which in turn drive the authenticity integration. In our experience this process has been the most effective in empowering the individual to achieving personal authenticity with an enhanced value contribution to self and to the extended environment.
