Purpose of the Job:
- Substation and Overhead Power Line Civil Designs. Including Earthwork designs.
- Roads and Building Design.
Key Performance Areas (KPA's): - Produce engineering designs (greenfield or brownfield) that details all the technical features, offering innovation and optimization whilst mitigating project design or execution risks.
- Conceptualize the design and assist with discussions with the client for first approval or gain buy-in.
- Suggest designs that will meet clients' requirements with minimum costs.
- Further develop Preliminary, and Detail Details whilst assisting in the approval process and client delivery expectations.
- Validate all design aspects and processes of all designs.
- Proficient in Civil design software (Prokon, Model Maker and Road Maker) and draughting software (Autocad, Microstation).
- Leverages experience by mentoring and supporting training of juniors, Engineers in training and Technicians in training.
- Responsible to identify business leads, and opportunities for work, to create Sourcing of Work.
- Adjudication of tenders and management of sub-contractors.
Minimum Requirements: - BSC/BEng Engineering or B Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.
- Overhead Power Lines Design experience and high voltage substations.
Other competencies and requirements: - 3-5 years' experience high voltage substations and/or overhead line Civil.
