Novus Print:

Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a diligent Mechanical Technician within the Technical and Engineering department, to assess the maintenance and mechanical requirements of jobs allocated, execute planned and ad hoc maintenance.

The successful incumbent will report to the Utility Maintenance Manager.


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:


  • Responsible for the execution of project driven mechanical installations and maintenance
  • Oversee and manage project installation and upgrades of equipment
  • Appointment and management of contractors and suppliers to projects
  • Assess the maintenance and mechanical requirements of jobs assigned and allocated
  • Receive and assess breakdown jobs on Shopware (computerized maintenance system)
  • Check and monitor the handover after completion of jobs
  • Provide technical backup to Printers Mechanics when required
  • Adhere and comply to OHS Act, safety procedures, operation of equipment and report unsafe practices
  • Monitor and assist with the development of preventative maintenance plan aligned with technical procedures
  • Willing to work on standby based on operational requirements

Educational Requirements:


  • N6,T3 or S4 Certification
  • Trade Test as printers mechanic, fitter and turner or other relevant trade

Experience Requirements:
years' experience in a mechanical and maintenance environment working within a large machinery and production environment over and above -Experience working with contractors and suppliers -Knowledge of fault finding and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment -Knowledge on maintenance and fault finding in a high speed production equipment -Sound Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards -Knowledge of printing environment would be an advantage -Knowledge of computerized maintenance systems
