    Village N Life is seeking a Hotel Stylist to join their team.

    The main objective of this position is to provide the group with on trend, on brand and environmentally friendly aesthetic and design services, procurement and advise. The position is based in the chairman's offers and is required to adapt a hands-on approach on all the allocated projects and briefs.

    From time to time, basic office admin tasks such as assistance with meeting arrangements, drafting of emails and preparation of board presentations will be required but the main focus of the position remains design conceptualization, implementation, and training.

    Main responsibilities

    • Implementation and upkeep of interior design manuals and guidelines
    • Sourcing of new suppliers, products, and maintain good relationships with current suppliers
    • Ensure the chairman has physical and administrative back up on interior and design briefs, projects
    • Detailed handovers on all briefs
    • Conceptionalise and draw up plans of mood boards and implementation
    • Brief and traffic handling of all designs to the design team, including meeting of deadlines of the brief
    • Liaise with design suppliers in order to ensure that project deadlines are met
    • Visit all properties (Camps Bay, Langebaan, Hermanus and Knysna) and identify possible weak spots in existing design material and make enhancement suggestions
    • Evaluate the sensory experiences of hotels and recommend and implement changes as required and briefed
    • Assist with service level training when requested
    • Manage interior briefs from brief to final execution and handover
    • Manage annual interior maintenance programs
    • Determine the costs of completion and project requirements in the budgeting phase
    • Set timelines for completion of projects
    • Create and maintain an inspiring workspace

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's in interior design / related field
    • Portfolio of design work
    • Project management experience
    • Highly creative, imaginative and artistic
    • Minimum 2 years experience in the same or similar position in the luxury hotel sector
