Reporting to :
Project Coordinator***
Purpose of the position:The Senior Fieldworker will assist the Research team in the implementation of the FIND project
at the PHC/CHC facility. The incumbent will assist with participant identification, recruitment,
and enrolment, effectively linking study participants between various care providers, completion
of study documentation and provide retention support activities.

**Main responsibilities: - To identify, screen, recruit and enroll all eligible participants as stipulated in the study


protocol.***- To register study participants and allocate participant identification number.***- To assist the research nurse with data collection from the participants.


  • To complete study questionnaire.**
  • Data entry on RedCap.**
  • To ensure that there is a continuous stock of paperbased study documentation (e.g.


consent forms, questionnaires, enrolment logs).***- To file all study documentation correctly.***- To conduct retention support activities (e.g., phone calls and text messages).***- Ensure Good Clinical Practice compliance.***- Ensure protocol compliance.***- Ensure protocol violations, adverse events or note-to-files are reported to managing staff.***- Conduct quality checks on data collected.***- Reporting of any challenges or progress within the study.***- To participate in monthly facility meetings and FPD internal skills development meetings.***- To maintain confidentiality always.

***- To effectively manage the facility study site including stock and storage of resources and


ensuring that the study space is well-organized, neat, and clean.***- To perform any reasonable other duty as requested by the site project coordinator.


Qualifications:


  • Tertiary qualification (relevant diploma/ degree) in Community development studies, Social
Work, Social Science, Psychology, Social Development or related.

  • Certificate in HIV counselling & testing (advantageous).
  • Certificate in Good Clinical Practice (advantageous).

Job-related experience:


  • Electronic data collection (laptops, tablets, mobile/smart phones).
  • Experience in supporting research activities (highly advantageous).
  • Working experience in any type of role within public healthcare facilities or clinical research
environment.


Additional requirements:


  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing Xhosa and English.
  • Proficiency in another local language/s will be advantageous.
  • Valid code 08 driver's license (advantageous).
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Excellent MS Office Skills.
