**Job Title : Driver - NIH STI Research ProjectAnnual salary (based on

Main purpose of the position:
The driver will assist the team in the implementation of the STI research project at the PHC/CHC
facilities across BCMM. The incumbent will assist by driving the company vehicle to distribute
all study resources and consumables, collect and transport specimens between the research
sites, office, and laboratory on daily basis, collection of materials from the suppliers to the office,
and maintaining stock overview lists.
Scope of Work:
To support logistics for the successful implementation of the STI research project at the highest
clinical, research and ethical quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Transport specimens and materials between research sites, office, and laboratory, utilizing
company vehicles safely and professionally on daily basis.***- Driving and maintenance of company vehicle in accordance with FPD Motor Vehicle Policy.

and staff where necessary.

- To perform any reasonable other study duty as requested by the Research Manager.***
Qualifications, driver's license, and permit requirements: - Valid driver's license (code 10 / C1).
- Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Grade 1
- SA Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate (advantageous)
Working / Industry experience required:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in driving company vehicles.
- Familiarity and indepth knowledge of Buffalo City areas.
- Previous experience as a driver of passengers and goods.
- Experience in supporting research activities (advantageous).
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, TB, and STI (advantageous).
Additional requirements:
- The ability to operate electronic devices such as a computer, laptop, tablet, and cellphone.**
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Xhosa.
- Proficiency in another local language/s will be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours (per prior agreement).
