Our Valued FMCG Client seeks to employ a skilled Reliability and Maintenance Manager from the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) industry.

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of production and manufacturing equipment, as well as the overall reliability of systems and processes.

This role is open to all South Africans or individuals with Perm Residency status.

  • Maintenance Strategy Development: Developing and implementing maintenance strategies and programs to optimize equipment performance, reduce downtime, and maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). This involves defining preventive maintenance schedules, conditionbased maintenance approaches, and spare parts management.
  • Equipment Maintenance Planning: Planning and scheduling maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production schedules. This includes coordinating maintenance activities with production teams, prioritizing maintenance tasks, and ensuring the availability of necessary resources, tools, and spare parts.
  • Reliability Engineering: Conducting reliability analyses and assessments to identify potential equipment failures and developing strategies to mitigate them. This involves using tools such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Asset Management: Overseeing the overall management of company assets, including equipment and machinery. This involves conducting regular audits, tracking asset performance, and implementing strategies to extend the lifecycle of assets while minimizing costs.
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and downtime. Analyzing data and trends to identify areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions, and optimizing maintenance processes.
  • Team Leadership and Training: Managing a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, providing leadership, guidance, and support. Developing training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge of maintenance personnel.

Collaborating with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, managing contracts, and monitoring performance.


  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and maintenancerelated costs. Implementing best practices, new technologies, and innovative approaches to enhance overall efficiency.

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in maintenance activities, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety protocols to protect employees and assets.


Qualifications Needed to apply:


  • Matric


  • N3 to N

  • Trade Tested Millwright or
  • BTech Electro Mechanical Engineer
