Description

An IT Change Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing changes to IT systems, infrastructure, and processes within an organization.

They ensure that changes are implemented smoothly, efficiently, and with mínimal disruption to business operations.

Change Management Process:
Develop and implement an IT change management process aligned with industry best practices and organizational requirements. Define change management policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Change Planning and Assessment:
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and assess proposed changes. Evaluate the impact of changes on IT systems, infrastructure, processes, and resources.

Change Approval and Prioritization:
Review change requests and determine their priority based on business and technical considerations. Facilitate change advisory board (CAB) meetings or change approval boards (CAB/EC) to evaluate and approve changes. Obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with regulatory and compliance requirements.

Change Implementation and Coordination:
Plan and coordinate the implementation of approved changes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, development, infrastructure, and support teams, to ensure smooth execution of changes.

Change Communication and Stakeholder Management:

Develop and execute change communication plans to keep stakeholders informed about upcoming changes, their impact, and any associated risks or disruptions.


Change Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of changes, including change requests, approvals, implementation plans, and post-implementation reviews. Capture and analyze change metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate change management effectiveness. Generate reports on change management activities, trends, and compliance.

Change Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
Conduct post-implementation reviews and assessments to evaluate the success and effectiveness of changes. Identify lessons learned and areas for improvement in the change management process.

Change Governance and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with IT governance frameworks and regulatory requirements related to change management. Maintain audit trails and documentation to support compliance and risk management efforts.

Change Training and Awareness:

Develop and deliver change management training programs to increase awareness and understanding of change management processes, principles, and tools.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in IT change management or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT change management frameworks and methodologies (e.g., ITIL).
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) principles and practices.
  • Excellent understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and development lifecycles.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple changes simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with change management tools and software.
  • Change management certification, such as ITIL Practitioner or Certified Change Management Professional, is advantageous.

Contract length: 12 months

From R400.00 per hour
