Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all projects are produced in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements
- Implement and improve operational systems, processes and best practises that ensure organisational wellbeing
- Purchase materials, plan inventory and ensure warehouse efficiency
- Contribute towards the achievement of the company's strategic and operational objectives
- Understand the financial position of the organisation and utilise this to improve profitability
- Perform quality controls and monitor production output
- Recruit, train, supervise and appraise human resources
- Ensure that the client expectations are surpassed
- Review upcoming events and plan crew and equipment needs with your team.
- Work closely with, direct and guide the technical relations manager, project managers and operational staff.
- Build positive working relationships with the centre event management, support staff and clients alike.
- Follow and maintain existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for event management and operational functions.
- Perform quality controls and monitor production output
- Fulfil other duties as assigned to ensure success of all event projects.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as an operations manager in an events industry environment (preferred)
- Experience in organisational effectiveness and strategic operations management
- Understanding of audiovisual and staging event projects (preferred)
- Budget development and oversight experience
- Familiarity with business and financial principles and practices
- Must be able to read and understand technical drawings
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation
- Authoritative leadership with a natural ability to plan and delegate
- Ability to manage operational staff to maintain efficiency and maximise resources.
- Will be both crew and client interfacing and therefore must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills, politely and promptly responding to all internal and external requests.
- Computer proficiency and a good working knowledge of Google Workspace, printers, basic computer interfacing and computer networking.
- Must have high attention to detail, excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to embrace our culture and follow all company policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times and be willing to adhere to our company's appearance and grooming guidelines.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as dictated by business needs.
- Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours, long hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays, if and when needed.
Salary:
