Minimum requirements for the role:


  • Must have a BSc / NDip in Food Science, Food Technology, Medical Technology, Biochemistry or related
  • Minimum 5 years new business development experience in Specialty Chemicals is essential
  • Knowledge of excipients and APIs will be an added advantage
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint will be required
  • Syspro or SAP experience would be ideal
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be fit to travel
  • Identifying new market and product opportunities.
  • Building multilevel relationships and performing price negotiations at customers.
  • Negotiating sales contracts with customers.
  • Managing customer pricing margins.
  • Assisting in managing working capital within company targets.
  • Assisting in driving working platform pipeline and key projects across the business.
  • Preparing annual sales budget, monthly forecasts and monthly sales reports.
  • Providing timely reports and information as required by management.
  • Ensuring the visit reports and customers details are entered and updated into the CRM system or similar.
  • Promoting the company products and image.
  • Meeting tight deadlines across the business.
  • Driving new business development together with Business Managers & Business Development Managers.
  • Delivering technical presentations at customers & ensuring appropriate joint calls.
  • Understanding and reacting to changes within the food & beverage industry.
  • Working with all support functions (business coordinators, internal sales, finance, technical) to ensure smooth operation of the business.
  • Maintaining Zero Harm principles across areas of responsibility.
