Minimum Requirements:

Own car and valid license
Degree educated or equivalent experience
At least 2 years' experience in a buying role.
Ambient food buying is a requirement.
Food Safety certification desired.
Health & Safety certification desired
Airline experience desired
Continuous Improvement Experience required.
Contract Management Experience required.
Strong people management skills
Strong business communication verbal and written.
Sound knowledge of buying best practice.
An ability to read and understand legal agreements.
Strong interpersonal skills
Robust financial and analytical & methodical
Able to work with attention to detail.
Problem solver & innovative
Planning and coordinating ability and skilled
IT Skilled across Microsoft Platforms or similar, WMS and or similar management platforms.

Flexibility and responsiveness to change with the ability to guide others in challenging environments. Proactive and forward thinking.
Expertise in managing suppliers and best practices.
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
Strong knowledge of warehouse Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Emotionally mature
Experienced in front face customer experience.
Able to guide and mentor individuals, resolve conflict.
Exercise self-reflection - able to self-correct and be flexible / adapt to change.
Ability to cope with and handle variable workload.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The principal objective of the role is to own the delivery of the food, drink and boutique items for the Company's Retail Section.

Food and drink in the African environment being the large part of the role but with ranges across the TRS global portfolio.

Ownership, development and growth of the product buying of products for the company.
Help build policies, procedures for buying and systems
Range profitability and stock holding
Process and procedure mapping and alignment, Run suppliers and drive profitability
Compliance technical and systemic for all products
Margin and stock turn return for product areas, Profitability of products with analysis on return
Product framework with profitable ranging
Data Management Health and Safety of product ranges.
Ownership of profitability of own ranges.
Company's Retail strategy for product areas with KPIs and objectives to deliver client service expectations and business growth.
Analysing suppliers' welfare, productivity data and optimizing their supply.

Monitor and optimise the KPI metrics setting ambitious but realistic efficiency targets to proactively contribute to customer satisfaction and business growth.

Auditing current processes and working with all relevant teams across the business to map out and execute optimisations and automations that will improve both process and cost efficiencies.

Liaising with internal and external customers, performance review meetings, managing queries, ensuring contractual requirements are being met.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and Customs and Excise regulations on any product purchased.
Be prepared to work Flexible hours and out of hours escalation (Standard Hours - Monday to Friday
