    Description

    We are looking for a meticulous and seasoned Business Intelligence (BI) Tester to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a crucial role in ensuring the precision and dependability of our BI solutions through thorough testing procedures.

    What you will be responsible for:

    The Business Intelligence Tester will collaborate with the QA team and closely with business analysts, developers, and project managers within the business intelligence delivery stream.

    • Conducting manual testing tasks across all stages of the SDLC, from examining business requirements to crafting and implementing test cases in varied environments.
    • Developing and revising test cases to fulfill the functional business requirements using HPALM/QC.
    • Validating the correctness and trustworthiness of data from the ETL Process, staging tables, BI reports, and dashboards.
    • Executing test cases manually across all test cycles (Unit, System Integration, UAT, Regression, Smoke).
    • Verifying dashboard customization requirements through manual execution.
    • Executing load and performance assessments to ensure the integrity of data flows and mappings.
    • Manually checking for updated logs.
    • Validating the accuracy of generated reports through manual tests.
    • Conducting back-end (database) testing utilizing complex SQL queries on Oracle and SQL Server databases.
    • Documenting and illustrating test executions to business end users for verification.
    • Utilizing JIRA and similar defect tracking tools for bug logging, managing, resolving, and reporting.
    • Engaging in scrum activities like sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.
    • Providing feedback on progress during daily stand-up meetings.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Relevant IT/ Testing certification.
    • ISTQB certification.
    • Data/SQL Certification is a plus.

    Required Skills:

    • Proficiency in MS Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
    • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, etc.
    • Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
    • Experience in testing complex ETL mappings, applets, and transformations.
    • Exposure to end-to-end data validation for ETL and BI systems.
    • Knowledge of DB tools like Toad/PL SQL developer/SQL.
    • SQL server management studio proficiency.
    • Experience in Business Intelligence testing across various reports.
    • Proficient in SQL scripting, data issue root cause analysis, and Data Warehousing concepts.
    • Expertise in end-to-end data warehouse testing and data completeness.
    • Ability to work within a team following various development methodologies.
    • End-to-end Data Validation expertise.
    • End-to-end Testing proficiency.
    • Testing ETL mappings and complex data.
    • Advanced SQL skills.
    • Data Warehouse Testing capabilities.
    • Reconciliation of data to the source.
    • Testing of reports.

    Additional Details:

    • Experience Level: Intermediate – Senior (5+ years).
