What will make you successful in this role?

  • The Research and Investment Analyst will perform indepth investment research, project tasks and provide a high standard of client service, sales support, and presentations to intermediaries and the Glacier Business Development team. The
  • Research and Investment Analyst, in conjunction with the Senior analyst, will also have the opportunity to take responsibility of certain model portfolios.
    What will you do?
  • The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved by the Research and Investment Analyst.

They will be responsible for / involved in:

  • Analyse, interpret and disseminate market, investment and industry information
  • Thoroughly research, understand and explain both local and foreign collective investment schemes performance, positioning and mandates.
  • Understand and explain active and passive investing performance and benchmarking (both from a CIS and ETF perspective)
  • Write articles; conduct interviews and do presentations on research/industry/investment topics (in English)
  • Portfolio and solution construction and aligning investments within the broader financial planning process
  • Understand and positioning of alternative investment and smoothed products (such as monthly bonus products or life annuities)
  • Provide support to intermediaries, the Glacier Business Development and Distribution team and other stakeholders
  • Assist with the maintenance of Glacier's proprietary research and investment tools
  • Ad hoc projects


  • Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant financial postgraduate qualification (qualified or studying toward CFA3 for example)
- - 3yrs relevant experience in a retail financial environment, particularly in asset manager research and/or financial planning.

  • Knowledgeable on all linked investment platform (LISP) products.
  • Advanced MS Excel capability
  • Knowledge of economic principles and retail financial environment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Valid driver's license essential
  • Be willing to travel nationally
  • A willingness to learn and increase knowledge is very important.

  • Appropriate financial degree with 3 to 5 years related experience
