Description
Leader in water and wastewater treatment seeks a Lab Technician at one of their client premises. Based in
HUMANSDORP. 1 Year Fixed Term Contract


For the position you would be required to have:

  • Minimum of National Diploma in: Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Micobiology or Biotechnology
years' experience in the water industry

  • Around 2 years' experience as a Laboratory Technician
  • Driver's license

Responsibilities would include you to:


  • Conduct specified analysis as directed and in accordance with laboratory procedures.
  • Ensure that Safety precautions and sound housekeeping principals are followed in the Laboratory.
  • Provide all standard solutions and stock solutions required for Laboratory analysis.
  • Report all deviations and unusual occurrences
  • Collate all the results obtained by the laboratory and evaluate these results for action compliance.
  • Perform calibration and/or standardisation of laboratory equipment as per approved methods.
  • Follow safe working procedures for all activities.
  • Identify results that do not comply with compliance limits, guideline values or quality criteria and report to the Plant Supervisor
  • Perform all other duties required by your designated supervisor.
  • Be available for a 24hr rotational stand by duties.
  • Generate standard procedures as required.
  • Supervise/assist subcontractors/service providers on site.
  • Stand in as Operator of plant when situation dictates
  • Assist supervisor with operation of water or wastewater plant.
