Our client are looking to hire an experienced and passionate sales manager to help drive the company's growth.

The sales manager's core responsibilities are focused on growing the company's sales by ensuring the products are strongly represented in stores across the country, and by looking after the relationships with all retail and merchandising partners.

The sales manager will also be offering support and management to the in-house sales representative/administrator and customer support team member, as well as working closely with the sales director and COO in achieving goals.

The job will be primarily office based but will also include time on the road.


Sales channels include Checkers, Pick n Pay, Dis-Chem, Food Lovers Market, Wellness Warehouse, Clicks, Spars, Vida and a range of independent stores.

Includes all regions in South Africa.

Requirements:


  • Degree in Business/ Sales/ Marketing would be favourable
  • Grade 12 certificate essential.
  • Proven track record in FMCG retail and sales management. Min 5 years experience.
  • Effective goalsetting skills paired with solid planning skills to hit those goals
  • Wellversed in all parts of the sales process
  • Great at building and maintaining relationships
  • Knowledgeable about the market needs and trends
  • Diligent at keeping notes and tracking details about accounts they oversee
  • Able to use sales insights and reporting tools
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills

The Key Functional responsibilities:


  • Developing and sustaining solid relationships with all sales/merchandising partners
  • Retrieving and interpreting sales data for all sales channels, evaluate trends, identify problems and opportunities for growth, strategies and implement action plans.
  • Acting as the main point of contact between sales / merchandising teams and sales director.
  • Communicating and cooperating effectively with the operations and office team on stock, accounts, logistic, sales and any other relevant matters.
  • Identifying growth opportunities, building new relationships and implementing growth avenues.
  • Compiling reports on account progress, goals, and forecasts for sales directors production team and stakeholders.
  • Tracking performance and offering support to in house sales rep / administrator / customer support employee.
  • Able to stand in for sales / order administrator if ever needed. This could include functions such as order processing and customer support.
  • Ensure effective roll out of new product lines and new listings. Manage communications and implementations as needed.
  • Visiting stores to address issues and nurture relationships and ensure strong stock management and placements.
  • Acting as the company's ambassador when on the road
  • Visit potential new stockists, deliver samples and pitch
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the various stockist needs and requirements and preparing customised solutions.
  • Potential requirement for occasional cross country travel and attendance to conferences
  • Potential requirement for occasional assistance / representation at events
Expect 3/4 days a week in office and 1/2 days a week on the road.

Salary:
R20,000.00 per month
