Main Purpose of the Job:

Safely transport either goods or passengers from one location to another. Following traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring that there is vehicle is always maintained for their destination, for POP Warehouse in a sustainable and positive manner

Education and experience required:

Matric relevant Degree / Diploma (Must have Mathematics)
Minimum 5 years Relevant experience as a Driver
35 years POS installation and or events setup experience will be an advantage
Valid drivers' license (Code 10)
Valid PRDP
Full Vaccination done

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with High sense of urgency
Excellent written and communication skills and Strong Numeracy skills
Excellent people and management skills
Must be prepared to work at unsociable times (Events related times)
Must be prepared to travel nationally at unsociable times (Events Related times)
Ability to multitask in stressful situations and absorb pressure in stressful situations
In depth Geographic understanding of South Africa

Key responsibility Areas:

Arrive at work at prescribed times, correctly attired and with all personal protective equipment.
Attend briefing sessions with Warehouse Controllers.
Carry out pretrip vehicle, equipment, load, and documentation checks, complete and submit prescribed check sheets
Prepare vehicle for the day, next day trip. Cleaning of vehicle, fueling.
Load equipment as per requisition and ensure safe and efficient loading and correct distribution of load on vehicle.
Ensure load is secure. Items packed to avoid any damages. Use extra precaution where needed.
Ensure safety of the delivery crew and equipment and report any issues immediately to management.
Delivery/Collection of equipment and trailers as per delivery notes.
Check address, delivery and collection times and discuss route with Coordinator.
Check load against invoice/delivery note to ensure OTIF.
Perform preoperative checks on vehicles.
Assist with loading and offloading of equipment.
Safekeeping and cleanliness of trailers and equipment.
Set up and break down of trailers and equipment at Special Events as and when required. Installation of POS in stores.
Ensure all documentation is correctly completed; any discrepancies noted, reported to, and signed off by the event/store contact.
Make use of POPULAR/ OPSI to complete jobs
Perform ad hoc duties as and when required
Immediate / day to day Problem resolution
Building relationships with clients
Assist in maintenance of vehicles
Ensuring that all jobs are actioned and delivered on time according to orders placed by clients.
Handling of customer queries and escalating the queries to the relevant management
Treat all customers and contact persons in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner, and remain calm & composed whilst dealing with difficult situations.
Ensure that all documentation is correctly filed and easily accessible
