Description

Minimum requirements:

Bachelors degree (SCM preferred)
Beneficial CIPS or similar or studying towards this

Key responsibilities:
Purchasing management

Purchasing of goods, materials and services relating to usual facilities requirements
Assess quality of order fulfilment
Escalate discrepancies to supplier and management
Conduct periodic site visits to be proactive in procurement planning
Monitor and keep up to date with market trends, competitor strategies etc
Work closely with team in the procurement function
Negotiate quotations
Review opportunities to ensure savings using procurement best practice tools and methods
Ensure compliance to company guidelines, BBBEE strategy, legislation and procurement policies and procedures

Supplier management

Build and maintain supplier relationships with good communications and negotiation of best pricing
Ensure consistent and professional approach
Act as interface between suppliers and relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects
Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
