    Job Title: Site Agent/Foreman

    Location: Durbanville, Cape Town

    Salary: R40,000.00 per month

    Type: 6-month contract Starting 1 March 2024

    Working hours: Monday to Friday 08h00 to 17h00 / Saturdays 08h00 to 15h00

    Job Description: My client is seeking a highly experienced and competent Site Agent/Foreman to join their dynamic team on a site in Durbanville for 6 months. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in managing the construction of high-end houses with expensive finishes. As a crucial member of their team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction process, including managing contractors, interpreting building plans, executing setting out tasks, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders. Fluency in both English and Afrikaans, coupled with excellent communication skills, is essential for this role.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Lead and manage all phases of the construction project, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and budgetary requirements.

    2. Effectively coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and construction teams to ensure efficient project execution.

    3. Interpret and comprehend building plans, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.

    4. Perform setting out tasks according to building plans with precision and accuracy.

    5. Utilize construction management software and other digital tools for project documentation, reporting, and communication.

    6. Maintain clear and open communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

    7. Proactively address any on-site issues or challenges, implementing effective solutions to minimize disruptions and delays.

    8. Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site, promoting a culture of safety among all team members.

    9. Provide regular progress updates to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, milestones, and potential risks.

    Requirements:

    1. Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in construction, specifically in the construction of high-end houses with premium finishes.

    2. Demonstrated track record of successful project management, displaying strong leadership and organizational skills.

    3. Proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting building plans, technical drawings, and specifications.

    4. Ability to execute setting out tasks accurately and with meticulous attention to detail.

    5. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and construction management software.

    6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Afrikaans, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.

    7. Ability to effectively manage contractors and subcontractors, fostering positive working relationships and ensuring performance standards are met.

    8. Sound problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make informed decisions under pressure.

    9. Commitment to maintaining a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment.

    10. Valid driver''s license and own reliable transport a must.

    11. Must be punctual.

    Qualifications:

    · Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
