  • Responsible for providing SHEQ support and for influencing managers to drive initiative to implement and maintain ISO standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, health and environmental requirements and legislation.
  • Ensure best practices are being followed and appropriate actions taken by all divisions regarding customer complaints, surveys and concerns and audits.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Department in each division and all branches.
  • Ensure that the ISO 9001 Management System certification are maintained according to standard and implementation of new improved systems where applicable.
  • Assist with the control of nonconforming products, processes and their reduction.
  • Scheduling, implementing, and performing internal audits and corrective action.
  • To ensure the conformance of product, process and systems to the standards or expectations as outlined in Quality Policy, Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Follow up and provide regular indicators and reports on safety, health, environment and quality figures.
  • Ensure compliance of OHS Act and COID Act.
  • Ensure all legal appointments on site are done according to OHS Act.
  • Ensure HSE KPI or targets are achieved by developing a safety culture.
  • Conducting safety observations and audits
  • Application of legislation to the environment.
  • Ensure compliance and development to Policies, Procedures and Risk assessments.
  • Ensure relevant external HSE and Statutory training is conducted as required.
  • Chair Health and Safety meetings and ensure actions items are addressed timeously.
  • Leader of Fire Team/Emergency response, train and report, equipment checks and management thereof.
  • Ensure inspections of fire equipment, first aid facilities are conducted and deviations actioned.
  • Site compliance to HSE signage and PPE compliance.
  • Manage all IOD'S on site as per COID Act.
  • Contractor management with regards to induction training, PPE requirements and permits.
  • Assist and conduct legal audits, including Department of Labour.
  • Ensure all sites legal compliance to NEMA.
  • Manage waste management program.
  • Ensure effluent permit requirements are adhere to.
  • Provide information for sustainability reporting.
  • Occupational Health Management system with regards to pre, annual and exit medicals of staff.
  • Liaison between the sister, doctor and employees on occupational illnesses and other health issues.
  • Conduct hygiene surveys of facilities and ensure hygienic standards are maintained.
    Inherent Requirements

Required Skills:

Industrial Manufacturing Environment: 6 to 7 years

  • ISO 9001 And ISO 14001 System: 6 to 7 years
  • OHS Act And ISO 45001: 6 to 7 years
Internal And Third Party Auditing: 6 to 7 years

  • Knowledge of office administration procedures and ability to operate most standard office equipment
  • Ability to solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience, resolving in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, establish priorities, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
