Our client, a well-established and premium international FMCG manufacturing company, focused on personal care products, seeks to expand business opportunities in South Africa/Africa and build a sales and customer service division.


Please note this role is a remote working role, reporting to head office abroad, and is initially on a fixed term contract; acting as a development product agent, with the view to building a satellite division in SA

We do require a hands-on manager, who has experience in business development within the formal and informal retail sector, with expansion into Africa being a long term goal.

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION


You must be able to work independently and accurately keep records and be proactive in your approach to ensuring the profitability of the company.


  • You will have a tertiary qualification in either Business or Sales/Marketing, coupled with 10 + years experience in FMCG or Consumer Packaged Goods business development, as a senior level.
  • You will have experience in developing and implementing sales strategies for accelerating growth, develop business plans for various regions and markets (informal and formal), as well as create/maintain and expand distributor relationships.
  • You will have a handson approach and be experienced in building relationships, negotiating with retailer stakeholders, be proficient in providing stock and ensuring merchandising efficiency in store.
  • This role requires extensive travelling in SA and eventually across borders into Africa, therefore you must be prepared to spend significant time away from home.
  • A strong selfdiscipline, work ethic, drive and results driven/entrepreneurial traits are essential
  • You must have a valid driver's licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
