Role purpose:


The purpose of this role is to provide value to the sales function, enabling revenue growth and increasing sales productivity by providing effective methodologies, efficient processes, value-added information and sales tools.

This person will be responsible for recognizing, developing, and implementing process improvements within the sales and distribution team. As a Sales and Distribution operations Manager, duties will range from providing guidance about market trends, to developing resources and tracking long-term sales and distribution data for all the sales and distribution channels


Your responsibilities will include:

Deliver on target revenue, sales count, grow value added services and market share and other relevant business objectives as required
Ability to manage cross functionally, and in the process live the Vodacom Way.
Support the sales and marketing team with process improvement, measurement, tracking and analytics relevant to their functional areas
Partner with Sales and Marketing department to refine lead qualification process, analyze and report on campaign performance with reporting and dashboards
Enhance sales and marketing productivity by enabling the team to work smarter by simplifying processes
Create monthly content for executive presentations and board reporting
Track and analyze key metrics including pipeline growth, win/loss rates, and quota attainment

Own the end-to-end process of tracking the sales funnel and operational metrics and delivering regular insights to the business; define and deliver techniques to improve the funnel performance for sales management.

Assist with on-boarding and training new sales talent
Refine customer segmentation, assist with territory management, and create a plan to enhance sales activation and upsell processes
Maintain regular check-ins with Sales/Channel Managers and others who contribute to opportunity development to determine how sales opportunities are tracking against plan and identify any problems for internal review and problem solving
Maintain procurement and contract records
Screening potential corporate deals by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; as well as recommending equity investment
Development of continuous improvement and business intelligence framework.
Monitoring of compliance to legislation
Process and Systems performance management and operational monitoring
Analysis of the fulfilment process to identify process gaps that have revenue opportunities, cost threats or a churn risk that require an intervention
Creating and maintaining Sales and marketing Department policies, procedures, training manuals, and sales-related resource material
Assisting with the onboarding and training process of new Sales and marketing team members
Conduct functions of system administration and oversee organization's marketing management system, marketing and IT systems & MarTech.
Establish and identify communicate timelines, priorities and deliverables to ensure goals are met to stakeholders.
Assist with the project management of the work briefed into our different agencies
Manage all internal and external vendors to ensure steady business operations.
Lead and direct audits of periodic system performance and plan revision strategies as appropriate.

Tracking effectiveness of marketing campaigns and reporting findings to the executive team (Exco) or business unit heads.
Budget management and ensuring that spend is delivering a positive return on investment.

Assist in the development of strategies and marketing tactics that help drive qualified traffic to our channels (ATL & BTL).

Maintain procurement and contract records


Technical / Professional Qualifications:

Grade 12 (essential)
Relevant 3/4 year degree / National Diploma (essential) in Marketing management or related
